Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 29: <\/strong>A university\u2019s excellence is often measured not by what it teaches but by where its graduates end up. For Sardar Bhagwan Singh University (SBSU), Dehradun<\/a>, <\/strong>the answer lies in the placements<\/strong>, research internships,<\/strong> and career advancements<\/strong> of its students.<\/p>\n

The latest addition to the list of successful SBSU alumni is Shreshtha Choudhar<\/strong>y and Kshitij Rathore<\/strong>, both M.Sc Pharmaceutical Chemistry<\/strong><\/a> students of the 2024-26 batch.<\/strong> Shreshtha<\/strong> has been placed as a Trainee Research Associate (R&D) in Spectrasynth<\/strong> Pharmachem, while Kshitij<\/strong> has joined Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd.<\/strong> as a QC Trainee Chemist.<\/strong> Both students have demonstrated excellence in their studies, which has borne fruit in the form of placements in renowned organisations.<\/p>\n

Another notable placement in the life sciences field is that of Prathivya Parashar, B.Sc Microbiology,\u00a0 batch 2023-26.<\/strong>\u00a0 She has been placed as a QC Microbiologist<\/strong> in Nitin Lifesciences Ltd<\/strong>., a subsidiary of Synokem Pharmaceuticals Ltd.<\/p>\n

Besides placements, the university\u2019s ecosystem also includes research opportunities. Recently, Ojas Ghidiyal<\/strong>, a sixth-semester B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture student<\/strong> of the School of Agriculture Sciences<\/a><\/strong> & Forestry, was selected for a research<\/strong> internship in ICRISAT (International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics)<\/strong><\/p>\n

SBSU also has various merit scholarships<\/strong> for students who secure over 65% marks in their 10+2 examination. Apart from merit scholarships, there are various category and region-based scholarships<\/strong> too.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As a Sikh Minority Institution, SBSU also has 5 percent general seats reserved for Sikh Minority students<\/strong> on the basis of merit. Students who have Uttarakhand domicile get 25% scholarship<\/strong> on tuition fees while girl students belonging to Uttarakhand get a full waiver of admission fees<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
